Key/Fill is a multiple output setup where two windows are launched.

Fill

The fill window is a full-colour graphical output. This will contain all of your elements as they should look in your production.

Key

The key window is a white/black representation of what to show and what to hide.

When these two windows are overlayed in a hardware switcher, that device will use the Key window to decide what to show. Anything white will show and anything black will not.

Key/Fill implementation in H2R Graphics is non-standard. Some animations may not work as you might expect them to.

Outputting to a hardware switcher

Connect your Mac or PC to a video switcher and turn off ‘Mirror Displays’. You’ll need two HDMI outputs for the Key/Fill option.

Drag the Key and Fill graphics windows offscreen to two different extended displays and use CMD/CTRL+F to toggle fullscreen mode.

Use an Upstream Key in your video switcher, set it to Luma mode and set the Key/Fill sources according to whichever inputs you chose when connecting your Mac or PC. Turn on the Upstream Key.

Choose ‘Premultiplied Key’ (or similar) and the graphics should be properly keyed out.
